Peer Review Process

Jurnal Harpodon Borneo is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scientific quality, academic integrity, and transparency through a rigorous peer-review process. Every manuscript submitted to the journal undergoes an initial editorial assessment to evaluate its suitability with the journal's aims and scope, compliance with the manuscript preparation guidelines, language quality, and publication ethics. Prior to peer review, all manuscripts are screened using Turnitin, with a maximum acceptable overall similarity index of 20%.

The journal adopts a double-blind peer review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process to ensure an objective, fair, and unbiased evaluation. Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening are assigned to independent reviewer(s) with expertise relevant to the subject area. Reviewers evaluate the originality, scientific significance, methodology, data analysis, clarity of presentation, and overall contribution of the manuscript to fisheries and marine science. Based on the reviewers' recommendations and the Editor's evaluation, manuscripts may be accepted, returned for minor or major revision, or rejected. Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, layout editing, proofreading, and online publication.
