Author Guidelines

Prepare Your Manuscript

Thank you for choosing Jurnal Harpodon Borneo as a publication venue for your research. The journal welcomes original research articles in the fields of Fisheries and Marine Science that have not been published or submitted elsewhere.

Authors are strongly encouraged to carefully read the following guidelines and use the official manuscript template before submitting their manuscripts.

Scope of the Journal

Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure that your study falls within the Focus & Scope of the journal. 

Article Type

Jurnal Harpodon Borneo publishes:

• Original research articles
• Review articles

Before You Submit

Please ensure that:

• The manuscript has never been published.
• The manuscript is not under consideration by another journal.
• All authors have approved the submission.
• The manuscript follows the official template.
• References follow APA 7th Edition.
• Figures and tables are properly prepared.
• Ethical approval has been provided where applicable. 
• The Turnitin Similarity Index does not exceed 20%

Manuscript Preparation

Please prepare your manuscript using the official Harpodon Borneo Journal template. The manuscript should contain:

• Title
• Author(s)
• Affiliation(s)
• Abstract
• Keywords
• Introduction
• Methodology
• Results and Discussion
• Conclusion
• Acknowledgment (optional)
• References

Manuscript Formatting

The manuscript should follow the formatting requirements below.

Language

The authors are strongly encouraged to submit manuscript in English. The manuscripts written in Bahasa Indonesia will continue to be accepted and processed in accordance with the journal's editorial policies. However, manuscripts submitted in English may receive publication priority.

Title 

The title should be concise, informative, and accurately represent the content of the manuscript. 

• Manuscripts written in English should provide the title in English.
• Manuscript written in Bahasa Indonesia should provide titles in both Indonesian and English.

Authors and Affiliations 

• Write the full names of all authors without academic titles.
• Indicate affiliations using superscript numbers.
• Identify the corresponding author using an asterisk (*).
• Provide a valid email address for the corresponding author.

Abstract

The abstract should:

• not exceed 200 words;
• briefly describe the background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions;
• be written in both Indonesian and English for Indonesian manuscripts;
• be written in English only for English manuscripts.

Provide 3-5 keywords arranged alphabetically and separated by semicolons (;).

Main Sections of the Manuscript

The manuscript should consist of the following sections:

1. Introduction
2. Methodology
3. Results and Discussion
4. Conclusion
5. Acknowledgment (optional)
6. References

The introduction should clearly present:

• background
• research problem
• state of the art
• research gap
• novelty 
• research objectives

Figures and Tables

Figures and tables should:

• be cited in the text;
• be numbered consecutively;
• include informative captions;
• be of high quality
• follow the journal formatting style.

Large figures or tables may span both columns where necessary. 

References

Jurnal Harpodon Borneo adopts the APA 7th Edition citation style. 

Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, and EndNote.

Requirements:

• Minimum 20 references
• At least 75% should be primary references
• Most references should be published within the last 10 years
• DOI should be included whenever available

Research Etchis

Submitted manuscripts must comply with the journal's Publication Ethics.

Authors must ensure:

• originality
• no plagiarism
• no duplicate submission
• no data fabrication
• no data falsification

Similarity Check Policy

To maintain the highest standards of academic integrity, all submitted manuscripts will undergo a similarity screening using Turnitin prior the peer-review process. The maximum overall similarity index is 20%.
