Abstract

This study aims to describe the components of stress coping strategies among students of Universitas Tidar who are actively involved in organizations. The method used is purposive sampling, where the sample is selected based on specific criteria, namely active students of Universitas Tidar involved in organizations, whether intra kampus, extra kampus, or intercampus. Using Slovin's formula and a significance level of 5%, the determined sample size is 166 students. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire measuring two types of coping, namely problem-focused coping and emotion-focused coping, as well as several less effective coping strategies. The measuring instrument used is Brief COPE developed by Carver, Scheier, and Weintraub, based on the stress and coping theory. The results of this study are expected to provide insight into how students in organizations manage stress, both through more effective strategies, such as planning and emotional support, and less effective strategies, such as distraction and substance use
