Publication Ethics
To maintain the quality of manuscripts and prevent publication violations, the editorial board of Borneo Humaniora Journal establishes the following scientific publication ethics. These ethics are based on the Head of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences Regulation No. 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications, which includes provisions for scientific publication ethics.
This Publication Ethics document outlines the ethical guidelines for all parties involved in the manuscript publication process and applies to authors, editors, peer reviewers, and journal managers/editors.
All parties involved must uphold the ethical values of publication, which include:

Integrity: Free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in publications.
Journal Manager/Publisher of Borneo Humaniora Journal

The journal publisher must provide personnel and other journal facilities, including funding sources, for the journal's sustainability, permits, and other legal aspects, as well as build cooperative networks and marketing.

The publisher must create guidelines for journal management, review policies, and convey them to authors, editors, peer reviewers, and readers.

The journal publisher is responsible for publishing manuscripts after going through the editing, review, and layout processes in accordance with scientific journal publishing principles and ensuring regular publication.

To create a comfortable working atmosphere, the publisher is responsible for ensuring academic freedom for editors and peer reviewers in carrying out their respective duties.

The journal manager must guarantee and protect intellectual property rights (copyright).

The journal manager must publish and promote published works to the public, ensuring their usefulness.

Respect matters of confidentiality, whether for contributing researchers, authors, editors, or peer reviewers.

Apply norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
Code of Ethics for Editors

Editors ensure a thorough, transparent, objective, fair, and wise review process, forming the basis for manuscript decisions — whether accepted or rejected.

Editors are responsible for deciding which manuscripts are worthy of publication through editorial board meetings, adhering to applicable laws regarding defamation, copyright infringement, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism.

In reviewing and accepting manuscripts, the editorial team is based on the principle of equal treatment in decision-making, without discrimination against race, gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or political ideology of the authors.

Editors and the editorial team will not disclose any information about a manuscript or submitted work without the author's permission.

Unpublished manuscripts will not be used by editors for their own benefit and will be returned directly to the authors.

Peer reviewers conduct reviews honestly, objectively, independently, without bias, based on scientific principles and analysis, and only for the sake of truth.

Peer reviewers assist editors in determining suitable works for publication and help authors improve the quality of their manuscripts.

Reviewers critically assess manuscript content according to their expertise, remain open to new ideas, and uphold confidentiality principles.

Authors must present their research or ideas clearly, honestly, and without duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, or plagiarism.

Authors must provide information about their research process and results to the editorial board truthfully, clearly, and comprehensively, and retain their research data securely.

Authors must ensure that the submitted manuscripts are original, written by themselves, based on their own ideas, and not plagiarizing others' works or ideas.

Authors must declare that submitted manuscripts have not been submitted to or published in other journals or publications.

Authors must promptly inform the editorial board of any errors in their manuscripts, whether discovered during the review or editing process. These errors include names, affiliations, citations, and other details that could affect the manuscript's meaning and substance. Authors should propose corrections.
