MANUSCRIPT TYPES

Jurnal Borneo Humaniora accepts scholarly manuscripts that contribute to the development of knowledge in the humanities and related interdisciplinary fields. The journal publishes original research findings, educational research, scholarly review articles, and academic comments or critical discussions, provided that the manuscripts are relevant to the journal's aims and scope.

All submissions must demonstrate originality, academic rigor, appropriate methodology or analytical reasoning, and a clear contribution to the relevant field of study.

1. Original Research Articles

Original Research Articles present original findings from empirical, analytical, or interpretive research. These manuscripts must address a clearly defined research problem and provide evidence-based answers to the research questions or objectives.

Topics may include economics, law, history, language, linguistics, literature, culture, psychology, the arts, and other relevant areas within the journal's scope.

A research article should generally include the following sections:

  • Title and author information

  • Abstract and keywords

  • Introduction

  • Research method

  • Results and discussion

  • Conclusion

  • References

The structure may be adjusted to suit the discipline, research design, and nature of the study, provided that the manuscript remains logically organized and academically rigorous.

2. Educational Research Articles

Educational Research Articles report original research addressing educational theory, teaching and learning, curriculum development, educational assessment, teacher development, educational innovation, and related educational issues.

The journal welcomes quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods studies, as well as classroom-based research and other appropriate educational research designs.

Manuscripts must explain the research problem, objectives, methodology, findings, and implications for educational theory or practice. Studies involving students, teachers, or other human participants must comply with applicable research ethics requirements.

Examples of relevant topics include early childhood education, mathematics education, language education, literacy, numeracy, learning strategies, educational psychology, and professional development.

3. Scholarly Review Articles

Scholarly Review Articles provide a critical and systematic or otherwise clearly defined synthesis of existing literature on a relevant topic within the journal's scope.

These manuscripts should go beyond summarizing individual publications. They should identify significant patterns, compare findings, evaluate theoretical or methodological developments, identify research gaps, and discuss implications for future research or practice.

Authors should clearly explain their literature search, selection criteria, analytical approach, and synthesis procedures, as appropriate to the type of review undertaken.

Review articles must provide a meaningful scholarly contribution and demonstrate engagement with relevant and credible academic sources.

4. Academic Comments and Critical Discussions

Academic Comments and Critical Discussions present reasoned scholarly analyses of published works, established theories, emerging academic debates, or significant developments in the humanities and related disciplines.

These contributions should identify a clear issue, provide a well-supported argument, engage with relevant literature, and explain the significance of the discussion for the advancement of knowledge.

Submissions in this category must maintain an objective academic tone and provide appropriate evidence and references. They should offer substantive intellectual value rather than merely expressing personal opinions.
