Peer Review Process

Mathematics Education and Application Journal (META) is an electronic journal published by the Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Borneo Tarakan. Every manuscript submitted will undergo a review process. Manuscripts submitted for the first time will be reviewed by the editor, evaluated by the editorial board in terms of writing format, whether it is in line with the focus and scope of META, the accuracy of the methodology, and checked for plagiarism.

The editor then sends the manuscript to at least two anonymous reviewers, whose identities are unknown to the author and vice versa (double-blind review). Reviewers consider the suitability of the manuscript in terms of contribution, originality, relevance, and writing presentation. The editor then sends the reviewers' comments to the author for revision and further action. The editor will notify the author of the review results as soon as possible, approximately within 6 to 8 weeks. The revised manuscript will then be reviewed again by the section editor to assess the alignment of the reviewers' comments with the revisions. The section editor may also request a re-review of the revised manuscript if deemed necessary. The final decision on article acceptance will be made by the Editor based on the reviewers' comments.

Accepted research articles will be available online (free download) following the journal's peer-review process. Plagiarism detection of articles in this journal is carried out using Turnitin. Authors must use a reference manager tool to write citations and references. The languages used in this journal are Indonesian or English.
