Peer Review Process
The International Research Journal of Accounting and Business employs a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, validity, and significance of published research. Upon submission, the editorial team conducts an initial screening to assess the manuscript's relevance to the journal's scope, methodological soundness, and overall quality before proceeding to external review. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant subject area, ensuring that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the evaluation process. Reviewers are provided with detailed guidelines and evaluation criteria covering research methodology, theoretical contribution, practical implications, writing quality, and adherence to ethical standards. The review process typically takes between eight to twelve weeks, during which reviewers provide comprehensive feedback and recommendations regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection. Authors receive detailed reviewer comments and editorial guidance to support the revision process when manuscripts require modifications. The editorial team makes final publication decisions based on reviewer recommendations, the significance of the research contribution, and alignment with journal standards and scope.
Step Submit The Manuscript
- Manuscript Submission (by Author)
The author submits the manuscript through the designated submission system or platform. - Initial Screening and Editorial Selection (by Managing Editor and Editors)
The manuscript undergoes a preliminary evaluation by the managing editor and editorial team. Editors hold the authority to accept, reject, or forward the manuscript for peer review. Before proceeding further, a plagiarism check is conducted using Turnitin to ensure originality. - Peer Review Process (by Reviewers) –
Qualified reviewers assess the manuscript based on academic merit, relevance, and clarity. - Decision Notification (Acceptance, Revision, or Rejection)
Based on reviewers’ comments, the editor communicates the decision to the author — which may include acceptance, a request for revisions, or rejection. - Manuscript Revision (by Author)
The author revises the manuscript according to the reviewers’ feedback. - Resubmission of Revised Manuscript (by Author)
The revised version is submitted, following the same procedure as the initial submission. - Final Review and Acceptance Notification
If the reviewer is satisfied with the revisions, the editor sends a formal notification of acceptance to the author. - Publication
The accepted manuscript enters the galley proof stage, where final formatting and corrections are made prior to official publication.
Articles that successfully pass the initial screening by the section editor will be forwarded to Mitra Bestari (external reviewers) for an evaluation of their publication eligibility, following a single-masked peer review process. In this system, reviewers are aware of the authors' identities and backgrounds, while the authors remain unaware of the reviewers’ identities. Each submission will be assessed by at least two external reviewers and one internal reviewer. The outcome of the review process may result in one of the following decisions:
- Accepted
- Revisions required
- Resubmission required for further review
- Rejected the rejected manuscript will be archived.
