MIKROPLASTIK DARI SUNGAI KE PERAIRAN PESISIR: JALUR TRANSPORTASI, NASIB LINGKUNGAN, DAN RISIKO EKOLOGIS_TINJAUAN NARATIF

Abstract

Sungai umumnya digambarkan sebagai saluran yang memindahkan mikroplastik yang berasal dari daratan ke laut. Representasi ini berguna untuk inventarisasi, tetapi menutupi proses-proses yang menentukan di mana partikel tertahan, mengalami transformasi, termobilisasi kembali, dan menjadi tersedia secara biologis. Tinjauan naratif ini membingkai ulang kontinum sungai–estuari–pesisir sebagai rangkaian penyaring hidrodinamika dan biogeokimia, bukan sebagai sabuk konveyor satu arah. Bukti dari jaringan sungai, waduk, estuari, lahan basah pasang surut, dan perairan dekat pantai menunjukkan bahwa fluks mikroplastik dikendalikan oleh interaksi antara debit, morfologi saluran, dinamika sedimen, pasang surut, salinitas, gelombang, angin, ukuran dan bentuk partikel, densitas polimer, agregasi, dan biofouling. Dengan demikian, retensi bersifat sementara dan bergantung pada keadaan: dasar sungai, waduk, maksimum kekeruhan estuari, rawa pasang surut, dan sedimen pesisir dapat berubah dari penyerap menjadi sumber sekunder ketika tegangan geser, banjir, pengelolaan sedimen, atau gaya pasang surut meningkat. Bukti lapangan terbaru juga menunjukkan bahwa pengambilan sampel hanya di permukaan dan penggunaan jaring bermata kasar dapat sangat membiaskan estimasi fluks, sementara metrik jumlah partikel, massa, dan bahaya polimer dapat menghasilkan peringkat risiko yang berbeda. Kami berpendapat bahwa risiko ekologis paling mungkin meningkat pada “zona peralihan” tempat partikel terakumulasi, mengalami penuaan, berinteraksi dengan kontaminan dan komunitas mikroba, serta berulang kali tersuspensi kembali ke habitat yang digunakan organisme bentik, penyaring, larva ikan, dan konsumen lainnya. Karena itu, kebutuhan riset utama bukanlah peta konsentrasi global tambahan, melainkan pemantauan berbasis proses dan peka terhadap kejadian yang menggabungkan pengukuran fluks lintas-penampang dengan pertukaran sedimen, sifat partikel, dan paparan biologis. Kerangka ini menyelaraskan ilmu transportasi dengan penilaian risiko ekologis dan memberikan dasar yang lebih dapat dipertanggungjawabkan untuk pengendalian sumber, pengelolaan waduk dan sedimen, serta mitigasi estuari/pesisir.
