A EDUKASI BAHASA INGGRIS BAGI SISWA-SISWI SMADI DESA WISATA DAN INDUSTRI TANAH KUNING

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out to improve the English language skills of students of SMAN 1 Tanah Kuning, East Tanjung Palas, so that they can promote tourist destinations and increase the potential of human resources, especially in the tourism sector. In the implementation stage of the activity, English for Specific Purposes materials related to tourism and industry (theory and practice) were given. In addition, participants had the opportunity to conduct interactive dialogues, discussions, and questions and answers accompanied by simple conversation practice exercises about tourism and industry in groups. This community service activity provided an understanding of the urgency of English language skills, provided a varied learning platform and atmosphere, increased motivation to learn English, built commitment to develop self-skills, and contributed to promoting village potential, especially in the field of tourism. Precisely, the synergy of the learning community is needed with the full involvement of the government through the Education Office and schools and various related parties, including society, to prepare a reliable generation in maintaining and utilizing the village potential in the future.
