Abstract

Currently, stunting is one of the most significant nutritional challenges in the world, particularly in developing countries. Stunting is caused by chronic dietary deficiencies in children, which result from prolonged inadequate food intake. The objective of this research is to demonstrate the relationship between early marriage among mothers and the occurrence of stunting in children under the jurisdiction of Mansalong Health Center in Lumbis District. This study utilizes a quantitative nonexperimental research design with an analytical survey approach and a case-control methodology, involving a sample of 57 stunted children and 57 non-stunted children as respondents. The independent variable for this research is the mother's early marriage, while the dependent variable is stunting. Based on the results of the correlation test using the Chi-square test, a p-value of 0.430 was obtained, indicating no statistically significant relationship. Therefore, it can be concluded that the null hypothesis (HO) is accepted, meaning there is no relationship between an early marriage of the mother and the occurrence of stunting in children.
